Ground-breaking Organic Pesticides

AzaGuard: the pinnacle of cutting-edge research

Recent research into organic pesticides, fuelled in large part by the environmental devastation caused by chronic overuse of synthetic pesticides, has resulted in the development of what many consider to be the most effective organic pesticide on the market today: AzaGuard.

Azaguard derives its potency from Azadirachtin, a powerful, naturally-occurring pesticide made from the crushed seeds of the legendary “Village Pharmacy” Neem tree of the Indian sub-continent.  AzaGuard’s uniquely systemic mode of action causes it to rapidly move from the plant root-zones through the xylem tissues upwards to the leaves, resulting in effective insect control that lasts significantly longer than many other organic pesticides.

AzaGuard’s recent surge in popularity can be attributed in large part to its revolutionary scientific formula, which provides superior broad spectrum control of more than 300 insects, and utilizes the synergy of multiple modes of action to effectively prevent insect molting between the larvae, pupae, and nymph stages.  AzaGuard’s patented formula also eradicates parasitic plant nematodes and repels insects, thereby reducing plant damage and crop loss.

AzaGuard also forms the backbone of a wide range of effective Integrated Pest Management disease control programs for sustainable crop production, providing disease control for many common crops and settings such as shrubs, ornamentals, field crops, turf grasses, greenhouses, interiorscapes, mushroom houses, and nurseries.  Due to its systemic behaviour, AzaGuard is most effectively applied to transplants before planting, and when pest levels are low.

Non-phytotoxic at labelled rates, AzaGuard is exempt from tolerances, and complies with all the regulations of the National Organic Program.

Furthermore, AzaGuard is effective and compatible with most common fertilizers, fungicides, and insecticides, and can be safely applied from seed to harvest using a number of common application methods including low volume, ultra-low volume, high volume, chemigation, electrostatic, or fogging.

How to Use AzaGuard

For Caterpillars

To control worms, moths, loopers and leafrollers it is best to use AzaGuard when the pests first start appearing.  For the treatment of outdoor food crops, a good strategy is to apply with a sprayer: Eight ounces of AzaGuard per acre combined .25-1.0% crop oil and be sure to dilute with enough water to ensure that underside of the plant leaves are fully covered.  The crop oil that you mix in with the diluted solution should be non-phytoxic.   It is also advisable to repeat the application in 7-10 days.  When treating non-food outdoor crops, use the same AzaGuard rate as above but repeat every 5-7 days (crop oil is not necessary).   If you are treating plants that are indoors, use a rate of eight ounces of AzaGuard per 40,000 square feet (crop oil is not necessary).

For Beetles

To control a broad spectrum of beetle species, it is best to use AzaGuard when you first see beetles appearing. If you are treating plants that are indoors, use a rate of ten ounces of AzaGuard per 100 gallons to treat 50,000 square feet (crop oil is not necessary).

For Weevils

Apply AzaGuard to foliage in ten day intervals at least three or four times.   Regular treatment like this will deter adult feeding.  When treating plants that are outdoors, apply ten ounces per acre with enough water to provide thorough foliar coverage.  For the treatment of weevils on indoor plants, a rate of eight ounces per 100 gallons of water per 40,000 sq. ft. is recommended.  For the control of weevil larvae, a soil drench application is recommended at a rate of 1 pint of diluted solution for a 1 gallon pot.  This soil application should be repeated in both the spring and fall.
